Embera Justice: A young man is locked between two wooden planks in the middle of the town’s square. As punishment for allegedly beating his wife he’ll spend five days and nights facing public shame, the hot sun and the torrential downpours. Emberas in their system of justice go as far as excluding someone from the community for up to ten years for crimes such as rape and murder in addition they report the crime to the Colombia republican justice system.
