The grave of the Dead German belongs to Karl Hillmer a sailor that in Buenos Aires missed the departure of his ship and attempted to cross the Andes by foot in order to join his crew in Antofagasta Chile. The wooden cross reads “Se lo encontro helado” he was found frozen.
