Reportage

The climate in Eritrea ranges from semi-arid to arid for the most part. Total annual rainfall is moderate to low, which explains why, with the exception of the Setit, there are no perennial rivers in the country. In Dankalia the thin stretch of land from Massawa down to Djibouti about 600km the rainfall is practically zero and temperatures can reach 50 Celsius in the shade!
