Louis Sarno holding a child that belongs to his ex-wife (sitting in front). Louis Sarno was born in 1954 in Newark New Jersey and has been living with the Bayaka Pygmies in Central Africa since 1985. In his own words he fell in love with Bayaka music and decided to search for them. The journey became a life project. He has written a book called “Songs from the forest” describing his experience and also produced Cd’s that mix Bayakan music with the surrounding forest sound.
