According to a prosecutor from the Medellin Human rights unit of the attorneys general office, in many Colombian cemeteries the remains found in N.N (no names) marked graves; can be the objects of a second disappearance. This happens when the local parish moves the remains to a collective grave to create space for new cadavers. The practice gravely reduces the chances of the forensic teams to ever identify the victim, as the DNA testing in Colombia is not systematic but selective due to the lack of resources.
