Reportage

The family is briefly allowed to view the packet (sealed with evidence tape) containing the remains of Benjamin Bustamante Rios killed by the FARC (Revolutionary armed forces of Colombia) in November 1997. The process of identification will require a DNA test taken from a bone sample of the victim that will later be crossed referenced with the DNA of the relatives. This process at present takes about a year. After the 99.999 positive DNA identification the remains are finally given to the family.
