Reportage

Tinku is a Quechua word that translates as meeting or encounter. Groups from up to 60 villages gather once a year in the town of Macha to do battle. Adversaries are roughly of the same age and size, one will be from the top of the mountain “Los del altiplano” the other from the valley “los del valle”. Fights can get out of had and occasionally people get killed.
